Chelsea ‘ask £350,000-a-week Man Utd loanee Jadon Sancho to sign new contract before completing £25m transfer’

CHELSEA have asked Jadon Sancho to agree to a new contract before completing a £25million transfer, according to reports.
The England international, 25, spent the 2024-25 season on loan at Stamford Bridge from Old Trafford.
Chelsea have a £25m obligation to buy Sancho in the summer transfer window – four years after United paid £73m for him in 2021.
However, they do have a £5m penalty clause to break out of the deal and escape the obligation.
Now Sky Sports News are reporting that the Blues are in negotiations with the winger’s representatives over his future.
Chelsea most likely want Sancho to stay in West London.
However, Sky claim they will only sign him if he agrees to fit into the wage structure at the club.
Sancho apparently earns a whopping £350,000 per week at United, where he has one year left on his current deal.
But part of the Todd Boehly regime is signing players on relatively low wages.
Star-man Cole Palmer is on £130,000 per week.

And the likes of Nicolas Jackson, Robert Sanchez, Noni Madueke, Malo Gusto and Romeo Lavia are all on £65,000 per week or less.
Sancho has battled with the likes of Madueke and Pedro Neto for a starting spot on the wing under Enzo Maresca.

He managed five goals and ten assists in 41 appearances across all competitions for the Blues.
His three Premier League goals came against Southampton, Tottenham and Ipswich – who finished 20th, 17th and 19th respectively.
However, he did score the killer goal in the Conference League final, coming off the bench to curl home to make it 3-1 and put the game to bed against Real Betis – before celebrating with a blue phone.
Should Sancho refuse the pay cut and a deal with Chelsea collapse, he could have other transfer options should United try and get rid – with the whole Red Devils squad up for sale.
Bayer Leverkusen could be tempted on a swoop as a replacement for Liverpool-bound Florian Wirtz.
And Borussia Dortmund may re-sign the winger to bolster their attack.
